I had the same problem with my 1989 Buick century it would be very hard to start I had to hold the gas peddle down to the floor and after it did start it would just stall out again. There was a strong order of gas I thought it may have been a ruptured fuel line so I brouhgt it to the local garage and after doing some testing it was determine that it was the Fuel Pressure Regulator after this was replaced it started and ran fine. Thsi regulator cost me about $160.00 bucks so just make sure that is the problem before you have one put in but you may be able to have that checked out FIRST and at least save some money on the "testing" part of the labor charges good luck
