Recently when I accelerate from a stop sign or to merge in traffice I am hearing a whining noise that mimics my acceleration pattern. The car seems to be working fine and I don't notice hard shifting or anything, but the sound is noticeable. I recently had my car serviced and all fluid levels were checked. Is this something to be concerned about? Or is it an old man being nervous about nothing. Thank you

Keep checking your transmission fluid, both the level and the color. I recently rebuilt one of these 4T65-E's that had the same issue before it failed. The issue ended up being a failed thrust bearing that chewed up the 1st/2nd gear clutch housing. Its probably just a whining torque convertor or pump in your case, but keep an eye on it.
