after sliding the passenger rear wheel into a curb and breaking the aluminum wheel, now with a new wheel and tires there appears to be a thumping noise on that side while driving. Is it possible the rotor was bent or is there a wheel bearing that could be causing the noise?

Do you hear the noise all of the time? Does it seem to change with speed or turning?
