Electrical problem
1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My passenger front window went down, but wouldn't close. Jumped the switch to get it up and tested the window swtch by trying it on the rear window. It works. The window motor works both ways also. Could it be a relay? If so, where is it located? Is the master switch on drivers side contain a relay? Both the driver & passenger switched powered the window down, but not up.

How did you determine that the motor works both ways?

Took motor out and ran power to it...reversed current...ran properly. Re-installed and spliced into wires and reversed current to get window back up.

Then it sounds like you have a switch problem. If it's not the switch at that door, it is possible for the master switch to cause the problem.
