Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked for vacuum leaks?

2 months ago I replaced all my motor mounts on my 94 Cutlass Ciera. I noticed a vibration with a shake. For the first time. I then had the rear trans mount changed with still no improvement. I just had the tensioner pulley replaced and the mechanic tells me my car in leaking coolant and it could be squirting the cylinders and there is no way to stop the vibration, hooked up old code reader no codes where present. The vibration started right after replacing motor mounts! Help can som. Eone shed some light

Can you get some pictures of the motor mounts? I assume the mechanic was saying it could be coolant due to it being a misfire but with no check engine light that may not be the cause.

I am looking for a picture of these to see if the mounts are grounded. This would make the most sense if this happened right after the replacement. Basically this means the two pieces of metal from the mounts are touching when they should be separated by the rubber of the mount.

Let's get the picture and go from there. Thanks

I have a 1994 Olds Cutlass Ciera S with 44000 miles on it. Recently I replaced the belt tensioner, spark plugs, and wires. The previous owner was an older lady that didnt drive the car much at all except to go the grocery store and beauty salon. The car was really never driven over (I'd say) 45 MPH. The car has no fluid leaks, or ignition problems. It shifts gears, idles and works great except with one problem. When the car gets up to a certain speed and the accelerator is held at a position just for maintaing that speed, the car will start to vibrate really bad. The problem seems to happen mostly when the car is going about 60-65 MPH or faster. If I accelerate to give the car more gas or let off of the accelerator, the vibration goes away and wont start happen again until I hold the accelerator to maintain the speed that I am going. Any ideas are much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This is a long shot cuz im not much on diagnostics but u should check this anyway.

Slip under ur car and check both U-joints on your driveshaft. If you dont know how just go to one end of the driveshaft and try to wiggle it, up and down, side to side. If it moves alittle bit that may be your problem. In anycase if either U-joint has play in it u gotta change em out because if u leave it unattended it goes from a 12 dollar fix to a 200 dollar fix
cya bud. Good luck

Over the last month my car cranks fine. As soon as I pull off though, it acts as if it is going to cut off and acts as it is not going to make it up a slight hill. Just no power, it kind of jumps a long. And also, it has started shaking bad, especially going up hill. Now its doing it even when Im on the interstate. If I let off of the gas. It stops shaking and just coasts. But when I mash the gas, it shakes bad and also loses power as I mash the gas. I have an automatic transmission. And again, it cranks and sounds fine. Just when I put it in drive and start moving does this happen. Please help? I dont have a lot of money to spend on a mechanic and and this is only car I have to get to and from work. MUCH THANKS !

Check the EGR. Check the idle air control valve. Check the catalytic converter by removing it temporarily and bypassing it. Have the computer scanned for both soft and hard codes.

I have a 1997 Cutlass supreme and it has almost the same symptoms as your vehicle. I have had every sensor changed. Spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, fuel pump. I took it to multiple transmission shops. I had 3 mechanics tell me it was the transmission. My car has 190,000 miles I had the engine replaced almost 2 years ago with a engine that has 90,000 miles. I just had the transmission replaced a couple weeks ago and obviously that was not the issue. Because my car is still doing the same symptoms. I took it back to the transmission shop and the mechanic said its def a engine issue. I have had everything checked. No codes show up and I have had multiple diagnostics done.

I noticed my car also is getting worse as I drive it. It has a lack of power and I have to slam on the gas just to get it up to speed. Now when I get to about 50-55 mph the engine starts to shack really bad. When I let off the gas it will stop. The rpm's will go super high and I will only be going about 20mph. Let me know if you find out any solutions with your vehicle. I am leaning towards a engine issue. Lack of fuel in the engine, or maybe some sort of air leak. IDK anymore, would like to ram it into a tree!

Check compression and fuel pressure. Check the catalytic converter by temporarily removing it and taking it for a test drive.
