1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Starter extension??

1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Automatic

My car will not start and i think it is to do with the starter and the shift gear, can not get it to run and the problem. I dont have a guide on the car so if you could help me maybe get my car going.
