1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Gear shift will not lock into park

When trying to place the car in park, the gear shift goes into possiion but will not "click".. the key will not come out and you can pull it right out of park without the car running.. not very safe.. Do you think there is something wrong with the linkage or the gear shift itself..

May need adjustment remover coluumn covers place shifter in neutral adjust at A so taht both dots above N fill indicator

O.K. sending shift adjustment for cutlas FWD Place in neutral press lock button place transaxle in neutral release lock.
