Ignition module replacement?

does an ignition module have to be type specific? will a 3.8 engine module work on a 3.3 engine?

Here is the ignition module which is under the coil pack. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

will an ignition module from any g.m. 3.8 liter engine work in my 3.3 liter engine,or does it have to be from a g.m. 3.3?

No.
even some 3.3 are different in differed cars/vans.

if you a particular car to car, i would look them up for you to see if they match.

Engine Performance problem
1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

90 2.3L calais 2 and 3 cylinders missfire (wet).Change plugs,coils,ignition module,housing,computer etc. 2 and 3 still miss. Compressures and fuel injections are ok. Anyone has a idea?

Does it miss when it's dry? Did you replace the plug wires?

Olds cutlass what? My database shows several cutlass. If dis ignition, it is under the coil pack. If you have a distributor, it is in the distributor. Any applicable trouble codes? I need more information? Exactly what is the problem?
