I have a 1991 oldsmobile cutless supreme. THey gave me this car about a month ago. It was parted about a month cause the guy who owned it before me couldnt get it started. Turned out it needed gas. So I took the car and I serviced it. I did spark plugs and wired fuel filter, Air cleaner, oil change, and lower passenger motor mount. Ok here is my problem. We put the fuel gauge on it. It read about 40. When I go to start it I have to hold the gas down all the way and it will take a about 30 seconds to start. It will idle kinda of ruffly. Then straighten up. Some times it will die. Ill do the same steps and it will crank up and it will run. I took it about 30 miles to next town =. I came to a stop light and then it died. I started it back up like nothing happend. Can you please help me figure out was wrong with it
Thanks

Hi Grod416, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation

Clean out the idle air control valve and test the throttle position and manifold absolute pressure sensor, also recheck the fuel pressure if its within specs.

Ok. Since the last message I put in a fuel pump. The pressure checked a 43. The motor is a 3.1. Its still hard to turn on. It still dies going down the road And when it dies I still have to hold the gas down all the way to make it start. I check the idle valve and its good. On the fuel rail under the intake It make a noise kinda like a loud spark. I touched the fuel rail and it feels like its happening in there. I dont know what it is. Thanks so much for your help. This is very helpful.
