My 1989 Olds 3.3L with 130K miles has failed emissions badly. My SES light comes on sometimes with a bad MAF sensor code. I have replaced the MAF, TPS, IAC, 02, plugs, wires, filters/fuel/air. Engine runs very well. Of course it failed emission again. The SES light is back now and then, like before, but no codes recorded. I checked for Vac leaks, Vac gauge doesn't show any clogged exhaust. Had this vehicle since new, never any problems, other than normal maintenance. As I stated earlier, the vehicle runs like new.
Any help will be greatly appreciated..

believe it or not, sometimes your gas cap can cause the problem, if it is loose or bad the engine light will come on. check it out and get back to me.

I purchased a new gas cap, made no difference. Today the SES light seems to go on when I accelerate. When I start to slow down, SES will go away.. Also today it leaves a code 26 "Quad-driver module or Quad-driver No.1 error" Does anyone have any idea what that means. I did replaced the ECM with a refurbished unit about a month ago...

quad driver fault/ in my experience it is usually the second gear switch in the transmission. you have to ohm out every single solenoid in the vehicle. any solenoid with less than 20 ohms will cause a code for quad driver, and if not fixed it will eventually pop the new ecm.
