Electrical problem
1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

The voltage drops when air conditioning is running. The altenator has been checked and seems to be ok. But when a lode is placed on the vehicle the voltage drops going to the battery. The car will not start after the battery has been drained.

It is most likely your voltage regulator and on that year it is part of the alternator the only way to fix it is to buy a new alternator a great way to make sure its your volt regulator turn on your car turn on your head light switch them to high beams then have a friend press on the gas as you watch the headlights if the regulator is bad the lights will dim and brighten
