Steering problem
1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Automatic 24,000 miles

I Have a 1972 cutlass and it sat for a while and I got a tune up and stuff on it and i drove it for about 2weeks and it worked fine then the steering started to get hard and now I have to use all my strength to turn the wheel. There is power steering fluid in the pump and I changed the belts. Do you kno what could be the problem??

Hi:
Try a test. Safely raise the front wheels off the ground and try to turn the wheels. They should turn with ease. IF they don't. check steering components and steering gear. If it does turn with ease, the pump may have gone bad.
