have a 71 cutlass convertible with a 350 rocket. This may sound really stupid but cant find the damn starter. Have the replacement part and want to put it in today but cant find where its mounted on the engine. Is it behind a skid plate?

Hi:
It is either in the left or right sode of the engine under the exhaust maniford (near firewall) bolted to the transmission's bell housing.

Let me know what you find.
