1996 Oldsmobile Ciera 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

approached intersection - applied brakes - began ok then suddenly pedal to floor, no braking! What could this be?

mostlikely you popped a brake line, luckily no accident occured and your ok. they will normally get rusty and weak, around the areas where the brake lines are bent to maneuver around different areas of the undercarriage, and because of these bends, they tend to hold on to water, and the water eventually rots and eats right thru them,

have you found any leakage around the vehicle? pump it and see if you see any fluid on the ground
