I believe plugging in the connector allowed the torque converter to engage by locking up at higher speeds, and then, being defective, it didn't unlock when you slowed down. I don't believe a flush would fix this, I'm not a tranny expert, you should probably call a shop to check how they fix this, probably a new torque converter is in order. Or you can just drive it without the lock-up torque converter feature. One more note, that car with the 2.2 liter only comes with a three-speed transaxle. P.S. For what it's worth anyone, am interested in purchased a ciera/century with this engine (2.2).
