1995 Oldsmobile Ciera 112,00 miles

A/C not working at all. Matter of fact it didn't work when I bought the car from its original owner. I didn't worry about it because I lived in Colorado and didn't really need the A/C. Now, I live in Florida. I don't know anything about A/C, freon etc.
Where is the A/C located? Is it just out of freon?
My main concern is I don't want to take it to a mechanic and get ripped off.
Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks, Ethan T.

Honestly, you need to get it recharged to see if that is the problem. Once it is recharged, then have it checked for leaks. Chances are there is a leak that made it go low in the first place.

Do that and let me know what you find.
