Hello. I bought this car from a lady who kept it in good shape. It was sitting for a few years in the driveway. I was driving to work on the expressway for the typical 40min,about 60mph when i exit onto the ramp, slight downhill,I noticed a sound like when you run over the groves on the side of the road or at the toll both. Then the car was bucking when i slow down. When i stopped, the motor stopped. I put into park and started right up.Then in gear the motor stops.Like a minibike with no clutch.I started it up and raced the engine and slammed into gear bucking and no speed like stuck overdrive? when i speed up it seems better. This went away for a year then it just started again. Lockup? The motor runs like new and just the breaks need work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. P.S.out of work for a year otherwise i would donate now.

It sounds transmission related. Actually, it sounds like it is related to the torque converter. Has the check engine light ever come on?
