Electrical problem
1992 Oldsmobile Ciera

Someone tried opening the driver's door with a hanger and the key no longer turns the locking cylinder mechanism. I would suspect something mechanical but the passenger's door no longer works either. The auto lock and unlock works from within the car, as do the manual slide locks at every door. Fuse(s) are okay. Before I pull a door panel off I was wondering what I might be looking for? A special wire that holds the key cylinder in place? None of the keys we have that used to work work in any of the doors. They still work in the trunk however.

Chances are they bent the linkage to the lock. Remove the door panel and check that. Also, make sure the linkage is all attached.

Let me know what you find.
