1988 Oldsmobile Ciera Brake lights

My brake lights stay on. I have to pull the fuse to get them to go off. What is the cause of this problem?

The brake light switch is on the top of the brake pedal. Check to see if it is out of adjustment or if the lights go out when you depress the switch.
