Alright so my alternator burned out and I had to go buy a new one. Me and my buddy replaced it but forgot about putting on a new belt, and it tore to shreds the next day. We bought a new alt belt but can't get it on because the serp belt is in the way. So my question is how do I remove the serp belt so I can then put on the alt belt?

There is a belt tesnionier that is on a pivot. When you turn it, the belt will loosten to release the tension.

Check out the belt routing site on this page. It will identify components.

Let me know if you have other questions.
