1984 Oldsmobile Ciera 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

well all a sudden i shut off my car got out and noticed my tail lights were still on so i thought i left my lights on and checked them were off so i pushed break pedle and nothing not even briter or dimmer they just stay on all the way on ?

pull on the brake pedal and see if they go off. most likely thats the [problem. unplug the brake light switch and if they go off then replace it
