my key is stuck in the ignition

Steering problem 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 144000 miles

My key is stuck in the on postion and won't come out even if I turn off the truck or move my tires left or right. Could this be the cylinder?

Hello,

What happens it the tumbler wears out locking the key inplace you will need to have a new key and tumbler coded from the dealer which if you give them your vin number they will do for ya.

Here are some diagrams to help you remove the tumbler and replace it with a new one.
