it appears that there is a big coolant leak, that is on the back side of the engine. i can pour water in the radiator with the engine off, and it will run out the back side of the engine. i thought it was a water pump but this seem to be something different. is there a hose on the back, bottom side of the engine? thanks.

There are freeze plugs and it could be the intake gasket or head gasket. Has any of the coolant mixed with the oil? Also, check the heater hoses that attach at the firewall.
