I can't get the engine back in timing. I removed the distributor to replace the intake manifold gaskets.

Remove the distributor-Now put the engine no.1 piston on its compression stroke and line up the timing marks 0/TDC at the vibration damper. Now set the distributor in and make sure the rotor tip is pointing to no.1 cap tower and then follow the firing order.
