Noises problem
2002 Oldsmobile Aurora 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 120k miles

My 2002 Olds Aurora has been making some strange noises the past couple days. The noise is not detected until I hit about 35mph. Then it makes a noise like it is reving harder than normal. The faster I go the louder the rev sound. I fear it is the Tranny, but also it kind of sputters a bit when I hit a new gear, almost like a timing belt. Any suggestions on what it may be?

Has the check engine light come on? Is the trans fluid full?

Let me know.
