1999 Oldsmobile Aurora V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

the car makes a backfire noise when a load it present.
ex: brake pedal pressed while gas it pressed
local mechanic said my converter sounded salted so replaced it and to no avail so he said it could be a stuck valve but i have ran injector, fuel, sea foam cleaner through the vehicle many times but to no avail still

You can have a clogged converter (Never heard of salted). This will give you a sever performance lag and a backfire.

You may also have a leaking fuel pressure regulator, stuck /leaking injector. Those injector cleaning products do not work. PERIOD.

The only ones that work are the professional strength that requires a mechanic to install.
