2003 Oldsmobile Alero 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I need to know how mant qts of fluid are needed, if there is a dpstick to check level, and if the fluid is added in the red cap by the air filter. thank you

This is a lousy design. The temperature of the fluid needs to be warmed. So the engine must run to be able to check the fluid. The fluid goes in the red cap. There is a plug that is lower that needs to be removed also. The when the fluid is expanded (warmed to a specific temp) it will flow out the lower hole.

I really don't recommend this as a backyard job. You need to be able to get underneath and above fairly rapidly to do this.

IF you want to try I can provide more. Plan on changing the filter or don't bother.
