2002 Oldsmobile Alero

I just bought a pump for my wifes car but the auto wrecker said it was really tough to get at. It sounded like it was inside the reservoir. Is this even possible to change? Or do I need to buy a whole new reservoir with it already in? I would love some help. I live in Canada, its -20 outside right now and I would love to know what I am doing and if it is possible for me befor e I start. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this. Ed
