2002 Oldsmobile Alero

I went to roll down my (manual) windows. And it was froze shut and the lever wouldnt budge. I kept trying to roll it down and I heard a pop. The lever will now roll up and down but the window wont move. What is wrong with it and how much will it cost to fix?

When you roll the handle in either direction does it stop, or will it turn forever. It could be just a handle that let go, but that doesn't explain why the window don't move. Are you in freezing temperatures, is the window actually frozen?
