The security system on the car is starting to screw up. It is a passive system that is only supposed to kick in when the ignition lock cylinder has been tampered with.

Five times in the past month it has caused the car to not start. The owners manual says to put the key in the "ON" position. While the dash 'security' light is flashing. And wait 10 minutes. This fixes the problem, but is a pain in the neck.

Can I over-ride, by-pass or disconnect the security feature? Thanks for any help or advice. Paul

It can't be bypassed. And to make it worse, the only place that will have the proper test equipment is a dealer.

As far as the 10 min wait, that is the only way to bypass the system to get you home, dealer.
