Engine Mechanical problem
2000 Oldsmobile Alero 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have an Electrical problem with our 2000 Oldsmobile Alero because it will not turn over. I went through all of my electrical Wiring to check & see if I had good connections. Then I started off checking other things like my starter & battery and took them into checker auto store & had them tested & they came out fine & up to working order. So I went back home & re-installed them. So I went in & asked some people that worked at Auto Zone. They ended up telling me that it was the Safety Neutral Switch that needed to be replaced so I ordered another & I replaced it & to this day our Alero is still sitting in the same place. I don't know what else to do? HELP!

If the starter won't crank, check the starter circuit. The purple wire at the starter solenoid S terminal should be hot with key in the crank position, is it? Any testing, make sure the tranny is in park or neutral and the e-brake is set. Check all ground wiring, if no ground the starter won't do anything. You can use a digital multimeter across battery posts, everything turned off, note the reading. Take a second reading, key in the crank position, the second reading should be lower than the first, if there is a load on the starter.
