engine idling problem

I recently purchased this car for the body .. I had a new engine put in.. when the car is in park it idles high and drops down repeatly.. also occasionaly while driving it will race.. no codes..please help for I hit someone

I think your throttle position sensor may be shot. have it checked/replaced. also it wouldnt hurt to check your idle air control valve
