About two years ago, I had my car looked at concerning a noise that it makes upon starting. I was told my air conditioning was going to go any day. It continues to do this to this day, and sounds like metal upon metal (screeching) until what sounds like the blow motor kicking in, and then this sound stops. On a cold morning, the screeching sound will not stop and continues to do so until I start the car again (after getting it warmed up) then it clicks off. The only way I can get this sound to not come on is by keeping the A/C button on even when I have the heat on.

Yesterday, my air conditioning/heat finally bit the dust. It will only switch on when I am on the highest power (5th notch) but at the other notches there is not forced air on either air or heat. Is this the blow motor?

What sort of repairs do you see with the problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
