How can I troubleshoot to see if my oil pump is working?

I drove through a massive puddle in the road and my car stalled out and would'nt start for 3 days. I got it started and there was a knocking in the motor and my oil level was high. I got the oil changed and they told me the oil is'nt going to the motor. Ran it for a minute and the knocking is really bad

Unfortunately I think engine is gone. Usually when water gets into intake manifold and into piston area with the engine running, the engine cannot compress the water resulting in the connecting rod breaking. **I think insurance covers this if you have full coverage. Sorry
