1999 Oldsmobile Alero Fan noise

1999 Oldsmobile Alero 4 cyl

When I have my heater or ac on everything is ok, when I turn it off the fan makes a noise.... Any info would be greatly appreciated. I have already changed the serpentine belt and the power steering pump for being noisy.

does the noise continue or eventually stops.?

are you sure its the fan and not the a/c clutch? because when you turn the heat on, the a/c turns on also ,and it does when you turn the defroster on too. the noise should stop completely when you turn either of those off, because the fan stops, until the vehicle starts to get hot, then the fan will come on again to cool it back down.
