1998 Oldsmobile Achieva Car Won't Crank

Car won't crank "security" light is on (solid-no blinking).

Hist: Car has had ignition (column) problems for mo will start but wll nt consistently turn off. Driver must move key and manually turn ignition off.

Raditor cracked removed and disconnected battery and installed another reconnected battery.

Car won't crank "security" light is on (solid-no blinking). Undidd batt left overnight reconnected no crank. Researched Pass Lock issues left in ky in "on" position for 20min no crank.

Please help.

I hate to say it, but it needs to go to a dealer. They are the only ones that have the proper test equipment to check the security system.
