The timing chaing tensioner no longer has pressure and it pushes down and stays down. You can literally blow into the hole that is in the tensioner and the metal piece inside comes out very easily. I went to an autopart store and a new tensioner is the same way. So how do you get the pressure back into the tensioner so that you can install it correctly so that it is up against the shoe in the timing chain compartment?

The adjuster is both hydrolic AND spring tention. Put it back in, and use a flat tip screw driver. You need to lightly pry against the tensioner center pin and the tension shoe. The center pin will pop out like a ball point pen.
I found this out by accident. Works great once you know how it works.
