1995 Oldsmobile Achieva 4 cyl Automatic

i can not get my car to start and the battery won't hold a charge when i try to start it the starter turns over real slow i have checking everything that i can think of and all the things that my haynes book said to check. what would you suggest

Either the battery is sulfated or the alternator is not putting out.Double check the battery and alternator connections.
