1995 Oldsmobile 98 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 114000 miles

I have a 95 olds 98 with a 3.8L engine and 11400 miles. No temp gauge and the date, fuel mileage, and system check are unavailable. As the car is driven the traction off light comes on and the other gauges start working. It also stalled at idle yesterday at traffic lights.

Actually I found out it stalls after idling for 3 to 5 min and does start again and has only stalled a couple of times.

No the check engine light does not come on. Today got a message AC off - High temp

Any ideas will be appreciated.
Thanks

Hello Tom,

It sounds like you have one of two things happening, first I would check the coolant level if that's okay check all of the fuses by doing a wiggle test while the car is running to see if the electrical goes on and off this would indicate a bad connection. Check all system grounds and wiggle the wiring harness as well. Next, try replacing the temperature sender becasue it might be shorting out which could cause the other auges to go wacko. On the bad side of things it could be the BCM shorting out.

Here is a couple of guides that can help.

Please let us know happens so it will help others.
