When I start my car there is a ticking or clicking noise, it seems to go away when the car gets warmed up. I just got my oil changed last week, so I dont think its low on oil but I am also noticing that some of my interior lights such as the little lights on my lock and unlock are no longer lit up, I am wondering if its an alternator problem or could be an alternator problem or if you have any suggestions, this morning the clicking noise was accompanied by my car sounding like it was going to die as soon as I started it. Please help!

I don't think the alt is causing the lights you mentioned to not work. If it was bad, the battery would just go dead.

Now my concern is the ticking. Does it sound like a collapsed lifter in the engine? As described, the engine seems it may die. If a lifter is collapsed, it will cause the engine to die out because a valve isn't opening and closing properly. Is the noise high up in the engine or does it sound low?
