my vehicle has a obd2 connector but a obd1 system behind it. is there a simple way to get the codes without a scanner

it dependson how many slots there are on the connector. if it has 12 then you should be able to pull the code yourself by watching the light on the dash. If it has 16 then you need a scanner. But i think that year is an od ball and you need a scanner to pull them out.
