I have the car listed above LTZ model. The oil sending unit went out and I had it replaced. Right at 30 days after replacement, it went out again. I had it replaced again. It has now been approximately 30 days and it has gone out again. What could be causing this "30-day failure" of the oil sending unit?

Hi,

When it fails, does it fail electrically or does it start to leak? Also, is the part you are using an original equipment part? If not, as the parts store for a different brand. There is a chance it is simply a badly designed replacement part.

Let me know how it's failing. I attached the directions for replacement below in the event you wanted to read them.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

I believe it just fails electrically. I have not personally seen the part as I have been taking it to have it repaired. The check engine light comes on and then a few minutes later the oil light comes on and a message which reads "Low Oil Pressure - Stop Engine." The message is accompanied by a loud, constant beeping. The message goes away if I slow to less than 15 MPH. When checked, the oil level is fine and no oil leak is evident when looking down at the engine or on the ground. When I have it repaired this time, I will ask for a different brand replacement. Thank you for the suggestion.

Hi,

You are very welcome. I would ask them to use a factory GM part.

If you get a chance, let me know if that takes care of the problem. Also, please feel free to come back anytime in the future if you have questions.

Take care,

Joe
