If you've replaced the oil pump, rebuilt the engine, or the engine has been sitting dry, it's a good idea to prime the oiling system before starting it.
1. Remove the camshaft synchronizer
2. Insert an oil pump priming tool (or an old synchronizer shaft with the gear removed) into the oil pump drive.
3. Attach a 1/2-inch drill.
4. Spin the pump clockwise (the normal operating direction).
