Knock sound when idling that gets louder as I accelerate

my car is making a knocking sound when it idles and gets louder as you accelerate it. could it be the oil pump?

If you have no oil pressure then the oil pump may have caused the knocking to start but that is not causing the knocking now. Engine knocking is caused by metal to metal on rotating parts inside the engine.

Does your oil pressure gauge show anything when the engine is running?

Also, get a video of the noise and we can help determine best next steps but based on this info, it sounds like the engine is knocking that is normally only fixed by replacing the engine.

I would recommend not running it too much or revving the engine too high until we figure this out because if I am correct, it could throw a rod out the side of the block and at that point the only option is to replace the engine.
