Oil pressure light

About a month ago the oil pump packed up which resulted in the cylinder head not getting oil and then snapping the cam shaft.

Since then I’ve replaced the cylinder head, all its components and the oil pump
After all of this the car starts and idles fine but as soon as the rpm stays above 1800 or so for more than 5 seconds the oil light comes on and it beeps.

I then replaced the oil pressure sensor since the oil pressure is spot on but it didn’t resolve my problem

Any advice?

When you say the oil pressure is okay, I assume you are putting a mechanical gauge on the engine to monitor the actual pressure. If this is the case, what is it reading when the oil light comes on?

We don't have a manual on the Polo but this is from another VW that is similar. The oil pressure switch is on the oil pump so since you replaced the pump this would be new as well. Just because it is new doesn't mean it is good.

However, if it is correct then the oil pressure is below the spec which is why the light is coming on, this is why we need to know what the gauge is saying and we can go from there. Thanks

Luckily I found the issue
The wire that plugs into the oil pressure sensor was broken inside the plug.

Just got a new plug fixed up the wires and my issue is gone!
