Do you mean the light is off all the time until a higher engine speed is reached, then it turns on? That sounds like the light circuit is connected to a sending unit for a gauge.

Light was on all the time until we changed the pressure switch. Now light is off at idle but comes on at 1800 to 2000 rpm and stays on till you come to a stop

Gotta be the wrong sending unit. Check the actual oil pressure with a mechanical gauge first to be sure it's okay.

Took car to mechanic. Checked oil pressure and found 15 psi drop at 2000 rpm. Ruled out plugged intake screen and looks like bearing problems
