Changed the crank (new) main/ rod bearings, oil pump and screen. Changed the oil sensor on the engine, running 10W-40 in 192,000 in 1996 Chevy S-10 Pick-up 2.2. It still will show at cold start, about 70-80 p.S.I., Then run around 20 p.S.I. Then sudden stop or idle at 5 p.S.I, /red line- with the "check gauges" light on ! I have used a manual gauge and it shows the same on the cold start and warm up ! This has gotten worse since the main and rod bearing change. There are NO engine noises, no power loss, no oil loss. Just this drop in p.S.I. When oil heats up/sudden stop combo. This is beyond anything I can figure out or can find concrete info on?

On a sudden stop the oil may be going away from the pickup or the pickup is loose. If the tube Is loose in pum it may suck air. Or it may be due to a lack of a bafflelets the oil go away from the pump pickup on sudden stops. As long as it recovers quickly I wouldn't worry about it. About the only thing you could do is check for those things and maybe use s good oil filter. I only use Purolator, napa, wix, bosch and ac
