My oil pressure sending unit recently broke, I replaced it and within 3 hours of driving in the new sensor my oil pressure readings are way passed 80 before it was just 0 as the sensor broke off from the threads. all other gauges work just fine.

Good morning,

First, I would remove the sensor and test the pressure manually to be sure the 80 pounds is correct.

If it is, then it could be a bad check valve in the oil pump.

If it is not then it could either be the new sensor or the wiring.

I attached the connector diagram and a flow chart for the switch not working properly.
