oil pan removal

This one isn't that bad. Hardest part is getting the front converter off for access. With the converter off remove the bracket that held it in place, then drain the oil. Remove the lower inspection cover on the transmission so you can get to the two bolts hiding there that hold the oil pan to the trans-axle. Remove the oil filter and the bolt that holds the oil filter adapter to the pan. Now remove the bolts that hold the oil pan to the block.
Be very careful cleaning off the old gasket, any scratches will cause leaks. Apply a 10 mm dot of sealant in the area marked, then install the pan and gasket. Tighten the bolts to just hold the pan loosely, then tighten the two bolts that come through the trans-axle to 30 ft lbs first, Then the pan bolts in the sequence shown to 18 lb ft. Next install the oil filter adapter bolt and torque it to 30 lb ft Plus 90 degrees. Install the filter, the bracket and converter and fill the engine with oil.
