Changing the gasket on the aluminum oil pan. This is a RWD, inline 6 cylinder, turbo, with an N55 motor. Wanting the torque spec for the oil pan bolts. Some are short and some are long. I saw a video for someone replacing it, but he said 8 nm or millimeters which does not make sense. Is there a millimeters on the torque wrench? I would think 8 nm is too light unless I am mistaken. Googling it online google says 30-35 nm, don't know what to believe.

Hello,

It seems like there is quite a bit of work involved to get to that gasket, including lowering the front axle. In any case, the spec is a M8x36 bolt, and the torque is 8Nm and then 90 degrees further. If you have an angle torque wrench this would be ideal, but this spec is pretty much hand tight. I attached the specs below. I hope this helps!

This is a RWD not an AWD and the engine is out for replacement. There are 2 different size bolts most are short but there are some that are ling that must have different torque spec as well.

Hello,

There is some other information present, but not specifically for RWD. However, the bolt mentioned above (M8x36) is for AWD. I see where there are longer bolts. I will list the lengths and torque specs below:

M8x26 : 8NM + 90 deg. Rotation
M8x92: 8NM + 180 deg. Rotation
M8x112: 8NM + 180 deg. Rotation

Hope this helps!

Yes that will be fine. In fact that is preferred when doing an oil pan with the engine removed.
